Day 32 Lower Division

We had a great day outdoors today! It was a bit cooler this morning so we spent time outside on the big playground. The children had so much fun going down the slides and jumping on the bridges. After we cooled down with water we davened and did circle time. After such an active morning we were starving. The children had lunch,  then made their own flowers on a straw. Then it was finally swimming time!!!!We splashed around in the pools. Before we knew it, it was time to go home!

Day 32 Lower Division

Today we had a fantastic time. We started the day with lots of lego building. Then we did an amazing job davening. The children sat beautifully for many wonderful stories. Mrs. Doran lent us books to read in camp, and the children enjoyed the tales. Everyone ate lunch after and got ready for pool time. The children cooled down in the water, as well as watered the grass. For our afternoon fun activity, we made our very own chocolate balls rolled in sprinkles or cinnamon. Everyone took turns measuring and mixing the ingredients. While the dough was in the fridge cooling down, we made our own brown bag puppets. It was so much fun.

Day 31 Lower Division

WOW 7 weeks of camp have passed. Where in the world has this summer gone??? We have been having so much fun that the time has managed to sneak by. This is the last week of camp :( So sad...that means school is around the corner.
Today we started the day discussing health. We spoke about lots of different fruits and vegetables. Then we cut up our very own soup. We put in colorful zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, celery, cabbage, beans, and peas. The soup was scrumptious. While we waited for the soup to cook we enjoyed circle time and story time. We read about Ganzo and his treasure hunt. The children really enjoyed the story.
After that we ate lunch and changed for swimming.
We swam and splashed around. Then everyone came in and enjoyed a warm bowl of soup. We finished the day with yoga for exercise and talked about ways to stay healthy.
Looking forward to a great last week!!!

Day 24 Lower Division

Today was a great day for dancing in the rain! Unfortunately the water was too cold in the pools to be able to splash around. Instead the children enjoyed outdoor time in the rain, singing songs and playing games. Some of us even changed into bathing suits for the occasion. Our special activity was baking chocolate chip cookies. Everyone rolled their own piece of dough, some into snakes, others into balls and some even did pancakes. The cookies tasted delicious. After cleanup time we relaxed on the carpet with some books. It was a great week, and we are looking forward to an awesome Shabbos Party tomorrow.

Mazal Tov to the Yaghobian family on a new baby boy! Since today was so rainy not everyone went swimming. For those that did, they had a great time in the pool and catching the rain drops. After swimming we made air popped popcorn. We went through all the senses we use to see, smell, taste, and touch the popcorn. Then the children enjoyed stringing their own necklaces and bracelets. We have black and white beads, and I encouraged the children to practice making a pattern and sticking with it. Everyone did great and had beautiful products!
Looking forward to a great Thursday,

Day 22 Lower Division

Welcome back to all those that were away last week, we missed you much! The weather has not been terrible. After circle time, davening, and many stories. The children enjoyed a special snack today of veggie straws, then we all swam and splashed out in the pools. Our pool time was shorter due to the temperature drop. But we did have more time to bake! The children enjoyed watching chocolate melt before their eyes. We then twirled our pretzel rods in the chocolate and everyone picked a color or sprinkles to decorate the chocolate covered pretzels with. They came out delicious. After much hand and face cleansing, it was time to go home. Rain or shine, we have a blast and the time flies :)
